I hope you can attend the inaugural concert by my new project, Kember, which explores the Celtic dance and song melodies of Brittany (the region of western France where I was born) in conversation with Hindustani ragas, North American jazz, and West African rhythms. Our group features Ted Porter on bagpipes, flutes, and mandolin; Jodi Beder on cello; Deepak Shenoy on nevhaat (a Hindustani synthesizer); Sachin Kandhari on bass; Uasuf Gueye on djembe; and me on guitar, Irish bouzouki, and vocals.
Some of you may have already attended house concerts at “Bourgeois Caverns” in Hyattsville (Maryland, USA), where we will be performing. If you have, you know it’s a fantastic venue that also happens to be the home of another beloved area musician. Because it’s a house concert, we can only give the street address to folks who have purchased tickets, so please click on this EventBrite link (https://www.eventbrite.com/e/an-evening-with-kember-tickets-2000033712674) to do that and get the full logistical details.
